Chronology of the Old Testament is a valuable contribution to scholarly studies in Old Testament literature. Dr. Jones' research is extensively documented and tackles conundra that have bedeviled serious Bible students for years. Bonus material is found in the author's corresponding chronological charts, which actually serve as the backbone of the book. They helpfully provide visual representation of information that can be so meticulous as to render it tirelessly confusing at best, and inaccessible at worst.
Dr. Jones' contributions are not entirely limited to OT studies. They also illuminate two significant dating problems in New Testament, those of the Crucifixion and of Pentecost.
Not all will agree with the author's conclusions, but Jones gives extensive argumentation for his positions and buttresses them adequately with Scripture. In this reviewer's estimation, no academic work in OT studies is complete that fails to consider this work. Beyond this, Chronology of the Old Testament is a gift that will repay its reader well beyond its purchase price.
