  6. The Holy Scriptures in the Original Languages

Logos is great when it comes to the New Testament, but for the Old Testament I have not come across many manuscripts. I especially lack 2nd Rabbinic Bible first published by Daniel Bomberg 1524/25. I did however find it as a book. I think this manuscript is of special importance because it underlie the King James Version.

  7. Hours with the Bible

    Cunningham Geikie
    James Pott & Co., Publishers
    1884

This is an amazing 6 Volume work. Much of it can be found online in digital scanned format, but pulling this into Logos would be a great addition.

Please add Modern Reformation to your magazines available! They already have their entire library digitally available through their website. It'd be nice to have them on logos itself.

  10. The New Testament Rendered From the Original Greek with Explanatory Notes (Kleist & Lilly)

Title: The New Testament Rendered From the Original Greek with Explanatory Notes
Authors: James A. Kleist, S.J., and Joseph L. Lilly, C.M.
Publisher: The Bruce Publishing Company, Milwaukee WI
    Copyright/Published 1956
    No ISBN
    LCCN: 54-7889

    https://www.amazon.com/Testament-Rendered-Original-Greek-Explanatory-Notes/dp/B001443ZO4

I believe this is only the 2nd complete New Testament translated into English from Greek by Catholics (the 1st being by F. A. Spencer, O.P.). The objective was to provide the laity with an easy-to-understand version taken from the Greek. The annotations are modest but useful.

  13. Bibles

Some useful modules that I would like to recommend for Development would be the Tyndale New Testament and or the Matthew's Bible. These would be especially useful in studying the development of the newer translations, and in the controversies over the King James only movement. It would also allow us to think about the hermeneutics of the translators over time.

"Father Nichols, author of both a sympathetic study of Balthasar and a sympathetic study of Garrigou-Lagrange, brings his extraordinary eloquence and erudition to the task of introducing Balthasar to Thomists and, indeed, to anyone who loves Christ. His ability to illuminate Balthasar's intentions is masterful, and his respect for contemporary Balthasarian and Thomistic contributions to the Catholic theological symphony is exemplary. This book is a work of love, and hope."

  16. Moffatt, New Translation (MNT)

is an abbreviation of the title The Holy Bible Containing the Old and New Testaments, a New Translation by James Moffatt.

In the introduction to his 1926 edition, Moffatt wrote, "The aim I have endeavoured to keep before my mind in making this translation has been to present the books of the Old and the New Testament in effective, intelligible English. No translation of an ancient classic can be quite intelligible, it is true, unless the reader is sufficiently acquainted with its environment to understand some of its flying allusions and characteristic metaphors. But something may be done and I…
